Food 4 Kids Program
The Agape Mission gives over 1,400 sacks a month of nutritious snack items to local school children who are at risk of going hungry over the weekends while attending school. Food 4 Kids Program was started during the 2005-2006 school year and now reaches every school in Washington county that is interested, totaling twelve schools. What a wonderful program! I have a list of specific food needs the mission has. Please contact me if you would like to donate.

Being on the other side of the lens....

Got a chance to be in front of the camera again! It is always a weird feeling for me. I have gotten used to being the one directing other's poses and doing a picture setup. Today my own company, Belle Claire Designs was doing my promotional shoot. My friend was kind enough to be my hands and take the pictures for me. All-in-all, I think they turned out pretty good!

Storytime at the library!
The Bartlesville Public Library graciously allowed me to come and read at story-time for the kiddos. It was an absolute blast! There was a great turnout and the children were so excited about reading. It was great to see. I read several books and handed out snacks at the conclusion. My own little boy also got to come and listen. A big 'Thank you' to Miss Laura, the children's librarian. She was so helpful and made things run smoothly for me. I enjoyed it so much, that I plan to return in the next few months!
Facebook Page!
I now have a Mrs. Bartlesville Facebook page up and running! I plan to use it to publicize events, highlight our local agencies and list my upcoming speaking engagements and appearances.
Check it out!

Freedom Fest Fun!

What an event! Although the rain was also in attendance, everyone that came to Bartlesville's Freedom Fest on July 4th had a great time! I personally had the pleasure to meet Mrs. Oklahoma - Heidi Ducato and Miss Teen Oklahoma - Danelle Cook! They were so nice and funny. We had a blast. We got to lead and judge the kids parade and mingle with local residents. The rain did not dampen the Red, White and Blue all around! Patriotic spirit was high!

Speaking at the Bartlesville Kiwanis Club!

I just had the opportunity to speak at local service club - the Kiwanis. I must say, if you want to know some of the hard-workers in our area who create wonderful community events - this is the place to go! I could tell from the minute I arrived, just how seriously these folks take volunteering and community service.
Lauri Rottmayer, and myself were able to share about the Mrs. Oklahoma International Pageant, and what my platform and goals are for my role as Mrs. Bartlesville 2011. It was a great experience, and the audience was extremely receptive.
For a wonderful Fourth of July Experience, come see the Kiwanis Club in action at Freedom Fest on July 4th at 6PM in downtown Bartlesville!
Head Shots! Thank You AJ Studios!!

I recently had my head shots done by AJ Studios. I have been so blessed, as Andrew Simons graciously provided me with the photography session as a sponsor in my Mrs. Bartlesville/Mrs. Oklahoma journey! On a personal note, Andy has taught me and mentored me in the basics of photography in my own business over the years. He does amazing work! Here are a couple shots from my session!

Getting Started
Things, they are a-changing! I have just begun the amazing journey of fulfilling the role of Mrs. Bartlesville 2011. I am looking forward to getting out and advocating the issues that are important to me. I have been doing so much preparation for my upcoming speaking engagements and title duties.
My platform will be advocating for the at-risk kids in our area, those that give of their time and resources to make our community a better place, and the United Way agencies that support them!Already I have been blessed just by meeting some of the non-profit agency directors. I have learned so much about programs that target kids, and just how much of an impact that the volunteers have on children who need some guidance, and emotional support.
I can already tell this is going to be a life-changing year for me!
